Well yeah, that what happens when you want soldiers ganging up - not all the hits are gonna look like they make contact. It's funny how unmatched combat was implemented out of demand, and now there are complaints that units die "randomly" from strikes coming from elsewhere. Watching units randomly fall dead from strikes 2 feet to the left So every successful hit with an arrow would be fatal, but balanced by the fact that the majority of hits would be blocked by the shield or armor. I mean, you could just increase missile non-ap damage to be about the same as a normal soldier's health, then raise shield block chance as well. If you rested them long enough, your "wounded" soldiers somehow made miraculous full recoveries on the battlefield? You could have fresh soldiers and fatigued soldiers in the old system, you can have fresh non-wounded soldiers, fresh wounded soldiers, fatigued non-wounded soldiers, and fatigued wounded soldiers in the new system, with all the different stat penalties each of those states would apply.Īs is stands, you have the silliness of waves of arrows killing almost no one, but injuring everyone proportionately. So functionally, he is still completely healthy even if he took 15 hits, which all happened to be non-fatal due to "probability."Īnd stats fell as the battle went on, so later, tired units would be more likely to dieīut that doesn't simulate wounded soldiers either. Presumably some of the "non kill" attacks were landing a blow, but not killing.īut that still wouldn't come close to simulating or approximating wounds since your soldier would still be at his full 1 hp. The HP system, while not perfect, allows you to simulate combat and weaponry with much more depth. A successful hit with a dagger shouldn't be as damaging as one with a greatsword. You had probabilities of hitting, but every successful hit was fatal. Right, but probabilities took that in to account. Either way, underneath that plate the soldier would be wearing another layer or two of armor and likely wouldn't feel anything. Hardened steel wouldn't even dent from a longbow. This thing buckled like aluminum foil when hit by an arrow. Just as another example, I tried hammering a dent out of high carbon steel for about 20 minutes and ended up breaking the hammer without touching the dent. True hardened steel like a knight would wear can get up to the 600 vph range, and you'd have a better chance getting lightning to strike him than trying to kill him with an arrow through the chest wearing armor that hard. This looks like mild steel (low carbon) of about ~150 vph, which is basically inferior to bronze in hardness. As someone who used to work with people who did this crap for a living, this video isn't worth the time it took to watch.įirst thing you should do is check if they list the thickness and carbon content of the breastplate, which they don't. So no matter what the container size, you're faced w/ massive memory usage. On a more tech level, an issue that plagues mobile devices is the abundance of poorly sized images, and how they contribute to crashing devices (esp on android). On a non technical level, the sad surprise will be when your user goes to save the image - which we know they do, and it will be saved at the very poor quality you provided, in it's large original size, something that might just send marketing and their branding dept in turmoil. This is a technique that was discussed some time back, but you run into several challenges. W/O getting into excess details, something like ImageOptim will take care of both for you. I mentioned this my #LitmusLive talk, but there are a few things that you want to deal with using PS exported images: metadata, and the sub sampling. The smaller the dimensions, the more you might be able to get away w/ lesser quality.Īlways use something like ImageOptim. And the dimensions of the image will also play into this. The quality gains at 80+ are less perceivable, but you'll suffer from file size. The JPG is a lossy format by default for one, and for 2, once you pass 80ish% quality setting, there's a diminishing return in quality vs size. My recommandation is to never ever save 100% quality. Don't use JPGs for image text (text images?), that's not where it's strength is - doesn't handle sharp changes in contrast to well. Do recall that JPGs are meant for pictures/photos, and possibly smooth gradients. But PNGs are a lossless format (large file size), you do need to be careful when using them. Many forget that you have a PNG-8 to your disposal (256 colours or less), and depending on the amount of colours, this can be a GREAT option. Hey Kev, I agree w/ what was said below - but I would add a few items:Īlways consider the format you need to start with. The radio and HVAC controls are straight LeBaron, but the wood and leather are the real thing.Ĭhrysler had hoped to compete with the Cadillac Allanté (also assembled in Italy at great expense) and Buick Reatta, but it became clear by the early 1990s that American car shoppers weren't much interested in very expensive two-seaters based on existing front-wheel-drive sedans and (mostly) equipped with automatic transmissions.Ī blending of Italian craftsmanship and American engineering, which was true enough. How many miles? Not many! Maybe the speedometer cable broke in 1995. There was a lot of snobbish disapproval of the TC by the automotive press, but just look at that interior!Įven the most over-the-top LeBaron never got this level of swank inside.Įvery time I write about one of these cars, I hear that the factory hardtop roof is worth fantastic money… but four out of the five examples I've found in junkyards had the hardtop, and I think every single one went to the crusher with its car. The Cosworth-headed cars (500 were built) got a five-speed manual transmission, but the other 6,800 TCs got a Chrysler slushbox of either three or four speeds (this one is a three-speed). The TC had three different engines driving the front wheels over its short lifetime: two varieties of turbocharged Chrysler 2.2 four-cylinder (one with 160 horsepower and one with a Cosworth cylinder head with 200 horsepower) and that good old workhorse of a Mitsubishi V6: the 6G72, with 141 horses. The body bore a strong resemblance to that of the Chrysler LeBaron GTC, which was unfortunate considering the price difference between the two cars: the MSRP on the 1989 TC was $33,000, while the LeBaron GTC cost $17,435 (that's about $80,880 and $42,730 in 2022 dollars). The TC really was assembled by Maserati in Italy, but the underlying chassis was taken from the Dodge Daytona. The Chrysler's TC by Maserati does have a devoted following, but they can't save 'em all. I've managed to document four of these cars in their final parking spots prior to this one, in wrecking yards in Colorado, California, and Wisconsin. Some 7,300 were built through 1991, and I've found one of them in a Denver-area car graveyard. 20 off orders over 120 + Free Ground Shipping. After Iacocca moved over to head Chrysler in 1978, he began working with de Tomaso (who owned Maserati by that point) to develop a sports coupe based on the Chrysler-salvation K-Car platform. When you walk up to a vehicle that is nice and cool inside on a hot, summer day, you will never want to get into a hot, humid vehicle ever again. Think about it this way: Once you go out to a vehicle that is warm in the winter, you will never want to be cold again. Most clients respond with, “I am only going to start the remote starter from home,” and while we agree that you will use it from your residence, we can promise you will use it in other places. One of the topics our team will cover with you is how much range you need in a solution for your car, truck or SUV. We will never be the lowest bidder on a remote car starter, but we will be the company that gives you an installed solution that will work reliably for hundreds of thousands of miles. What does all this mean to you? It’s pretty simple. Shops are now installing products that wouldn’t pass quality control in a toy factory and are employing technicians who should never be around a complex electrical system in a modern vehicle.įortunately, Perzan Auto Radio has staked our reputation since 1948 on supplying the finest products, along with installations that meet or often exceed the standards of a vehicle manufacturer. If the hot, humid summer heat can take your breath away, one of our solutions can cool down your interior, making it nice and comfortable for you. If you have ever gone out to a cold car or scraped ice off the windows, a remote car starter is perfect for you. We are not a newcomer to the category, but rather, have been around since the technology began. Remote car starters have been a popular category at Perzan Auto Radio in Upper Darby for decades.
